1. Who we are

Scenescaper (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an ambient sound and focus environment service available at scenescaper.com. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at contact@optulis.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account data - email address, username and encrypted password when you create an account.
• Scene data - scenes you create and save, including their names, settings and whether they are public or private.
• Usage data - standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). We do not currently use third-party analytics.

We do not collect payment information, sell data to third parties, or track you across other websites.

3. How we use your data

• To create and manage your account
• To save and display your scenes
• To enable public scene sharing (only for scenes you mark as public)
• To send essential account emails (e.g. email confirmation, password reset)

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use row-level security so users can only access their own private data.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and private scenes will be deleted within 30 days. Public scenes may be retained in anonymised form.

6. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
